Come and help Bristol Print Collective carve a large-scale linocut on Sunday they will be printing the block with a heavy-duty roller where you can get involved with the inking process. Alongside the large scale block you can also drop by their project space to create your own wonderful relief prints using their pre-carved lino cuts. Suitable for all ages and abilities… just drop in, roll up, and print! – Family friendly

Artist and writer, Peter Ursem, is preparing the publication of fourty new ‘friendly fables’, animal stories full of wisdom and wit to make you slow your pace. On request, Peter will read you a fable of your choice, but… you’ll have to pay for it with a mono-print to be made on the spot. Family friendly. 10-11:30am.
Dutch-born artist Peter Ursem was gripped by lino printing when he moved to the UK 25 years ago. Since then he has won several awards and is now well known for his poetic and colourful landscape prints. In this presentation, Peter will describe his fascination with this simple yet dramatic technique and how he achieves the rich layering in his lino prints. 12-1pm.
Produce and install your own letterpress-printed posters to be displayed in the courtyard of Ocean Studios. All day drop in.
Matt Holmes will be transplanting his work and practice into the Ocean Studios café space, where it will form an “open studio installation”, consisting of a mixture of static displays and live demonstrations in an open working space. Matt’s practice forms a link between modern digital technology and heritage craft practices. He has taken the traditional processes of letterpress printmaking, and remediated them with new techniques such as 3D printing. All day drop in.
Bring two artistic practices together at this fun taster workshop. Have a go at monoprinting on clay!

An exhibition celebrating Plymouth’s multi-storey car parks – free and open to all. The show will explore, document and celebrate the significance of the concrete multi story car parks of Plymouth, through the physical features and cultural value that is embedded in these often maligned or overlooked examples of radical design. The show includes soundscapes, photographic images and original hand altered photopolymer prints. 10am-4pm.
Simon Ripley will demonstrate his idiosyncratic way of using wood and linocut to make painterly, highly textured abstract monoprints. He will make a print to demonstrate the process and discuss his approach to printmaking. Simon will print by hand onto Japanese papers layering wet inks in a spontaneous and reactive approach to the print process.
