Since 2005, Arts Award has been flourishing across educational and cultural settings, so what is it, and how can you get involved?
Arts Award is a range of unique qualifications that supports anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through taking challenges in an art form – from fashion to digital art, pottery to poetry. There are five levels of participation; Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver, Gold. It is awarded by Trinity in association with Arts Council England, and driven by regional Bridges, which is where we at Real Ideas come in!
We have been working with organisations and individuals who offer Arts Award, supporting and funding them into training. Look out for our blog about Real Ideas member Jane Norris coming later this week to find out more about this.
We also facilitate children and young people achieving their Arts Award, by weaving it into the work that we do as an organisation. In November, we funded almost 200 Arts Award Discovers through our Illuminate Immersive Worlds Workshop and this half term, we are offering Arts Award Discover to any child who takes part in our Immersive Seeds for Plymouth Wildflower Experience at Market Hall, or our Junior Print Club at Ocean Studios.
From Key Stage One, all the way up to post education, Arts Award is a valued qualification that celebrates young people’s talents and broadens children’s understanding of arts and culture. You can find out more about Arts Award here.
