An ‘Immersive Technology Hub’ can sound like a very exclusive and intimidating term – however, we have been working hard over the last year to show that these new and innovative technologies can be accessible to everyone.

We have worked closely with two local SEND schools in Plymouth to co-create a collection of immersive sensory experiences that are now bookable for schools and groups, and are part of our public programme.

We’re delighted to announce that the first of our specialist immersive facilities, the dome and production suite, are now available to book for testing! Requested through the ‘Book a Space’ function within the members portal, you can now access time in the dome and expert technical support to test and develop your next immersive production.

Other facilities will soon be available to book including Insta360 X3 cameras and Oculus Quest II headsets – watch this space! For any enquiries on specialist booking facilities, please contact us via email.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our first Women In Immersive Tech networking social last month. It was brilliant to hear from people already working in the immersive and tech sectors as well as individuals at the beginning of their career, thank you to all those that shared. In the next meet-up we’ll further explore the current challenges individuals and businesses face and consider how we can collectively contribute to a vibrant network in this sector in the South West and facilitate opportunities and pathways.

We’re really keen for this network to continually grow so please join us next Tuesday 27th Feb from 6pm to add your voice to the conversation – everyone is welcome!

After a hugely successful first ‘Dome Session’ back in December with the legendary DJ Yoda, we’re really excited for future live experiences to come at the Market Hall this year. Keep an eye on our social media to find out more!

If you can’t wait, we’ll be hosting a celebration of 50 years since the release of The Dark Side of The Moon on March 1st. Featuring 360-degree psychedelic visuals, this prerecorded show will showcase songs from the iconic album, making the most of the fantastic sound system we have in the immersive dome.

On our website, you can now book a 360° Filmmaking taster session to get up close with Insta360 cameras and to create a short video that can be seen on the immersive dome! There are options for children, families together and adults too.

Next week, our much loved LEGO Robotics sessions are returning, starting this February half term. They are a fantastic way of engaging children with coding and the basics of robotics, enabling them to design and build their own creations, and then make them move!
