Following the very successful Messages from the HeART exhibition at Ocean Studios earlier this year, Hope in the Heart, in collaboration with The Intersection and Real Ideas, brings you Messages from the HeARTlands. This project will feature three smaller, but no less powerful, exhibitions, with associated events, featuring creative expressions by people with lived experience of mental health and associated issues.
Each piece contains a message for people in power (service providers, commissioners, local leaders and society in general) and the collective “voices” of the creators combine to highlight what is working and where change is needed.
We are excited to announce the first of these exhibitions will run from the afternoon of Friday 7th October until Friday 14th October at Devonport Guildhall. You can find out more about the exhibition, the events, and the creative workshops leading up to them here, with a summary below.
During the exhibition there will be several events:
Saturday 8th – Celebrating the HeART – Performance Evening
Sunday 9th – Mental Health Connections – learning from each other and finding what fits
Tuesday 11th – Building Bridges -The Journey of Co-production – presentation
Thursday 13th – Bridging the Gaps – uniting service providers and service users as equals
Friday 14th – Pieces of Us – The Intersection launch event

In the run up to the event, there will be four workshops where people with lived experience of mental health and related challenges are welcome to join Zoe Around the Making Table in Ocean Studios to explore personal journeys and creative materials.
