Repeat Pattern Screen Print on Fabric Workshop
Learn how to create a repeat print for fabric! This step by step workshop will show you how much fun it is!
Join RAMP (Real Art Make Print) and RAMP’s resident print artitst Suzanne Drummond in a one-day workshop to learn how to create an incredible repeat pattern for fabric.
Starting with your own design, you will learn how to create a repeating pattern using a semi-permanent stencil to create one/ two colour print.
DAY SCHEDULE:
Morning: Starting the day with an introduction to the process. Initial drawing, image planning and design
Then moving onto initial drawing, image planning and design. You will work at your own speed to create a repeat pattern. You will focus on image selection, simplification and pattern review, layout planning, redrawing, cutting out the image and setting up of screens.
12 pm – 12.30pm: Lunch break
Afternoon: You will learn how to select colours using a basic palette and how to mix your own colour. You will be introduced to the screen printing processes and techniques, and you will print a sample of your design.
At the end of the session, you will start drying and curing your work, as well as cleaning down the studio space. The workshop will finish with a short discussion about each other’s work and choices.
