Francesca is the Programme & Enterprise Lead at Ocean Studios, Plymouth’s thriving artist studio complex. Here, she supports a platform for artistic expression and learning, offering affordable studios, cutting-edge facilities, and a programme of creative prospects to individuals embarking on their artistic and creative journeys.
With a commitment to creativity, Francesca’s journey with Real Ideas dates back to 2017, supporting members, Real Ideas spaces, exhibitions, workshops, residencies and creative experiences. Her work is dedicated to nurturing an environment where traditional and contemporary artistic practice collide to create collaborations and a platform to make and shout about the great work made in Plymouth, supporting the push to align Real Art Make Print in Plymouth as a leading creative hub regionally and nationally.
Emerging creatives, graduates and start-ups are also on her mind, creating and understanding the practical needs of makers post education and those on the start of their journey, through residencies, creative development and routes to market including Native Makers and Plymouth’s first print festival – Print in Action.
Francesca comes from an arts-related background and is keen to help grow the cities arts ecology. She’s a practising artist and arts driver, supporting the delivery of Plymouth Art Weekender, Visual Arts Plymouth and is a founder of Plymouth’s first mural collective, LOCI.
