Outside The Box is offering a monthly Saturday School Studio Day. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy learning in the visual Arts, in a creative and educational environment tutored by artist, teacher and lecturer (Art and Education) Caroline Mercer.
Saturday Arts School is for children from 7+ (there is no upper age limit) and they work collaboratively, in small groups. The course is designed so that each pupil is tutored and lead through individual challenge. All ability/experience is valued and encouraged and all materials are supplied!
This studio day will take place on Saturday 2nd April from 10.30 – 3.30pm. You will be looking at digital drawing (all devices provided), collage and painting techniques to design and create a layered and vibrant canvas wall hanging. Just in time for Easter!
The theme will be ‘Spring is in the Air’ with special artist studies of Matisse (collage) and Hockney (digital drawing) as well as admiring different works of art with the same themes. You will be learning and using different cutting, layering and drawing techniques – combining papers, fabrics and layers of paint to produce a final canvas wall hanging. You will also be delving into choosing and using colours which really give us the sense of spring.
