The RIO solution
Stonehouse in Plymouth is home to a rich creative community, but many do not have the outlet or the skills to develop themselves as artists, supporting the community to develop their entrepreneurial skills and as artists.
Outside the Box provides an accessible platform for individuals from deprived areas with resources and opportunities to develop as artists, in addition to providing work experience opportunities for young people in the creative industries as well as a platform for skills sharing across the community.

How The Project Was Received
“"I am hoping that Outside the Box can make an impact on the wider community; working with children, families and people who may not get the opportunity to make and create in an inclusive and supportive environment, finding a passion and talent or themselves in their work. I would like to bring the community together by establishing an annual city-wide exhibition for schools and families. This might include workshops, support and training for specific groups which link to relevant themes and impacts positively on a both personal and community level." ”Caroline Mercer, Director of Outside The Box
