Music really does matter in schools but often requires creative and collaborative approaches to secure its vital and life-affirming place as part of a rich and balanced curriculum.

This special music themed webinar spotlights the creative good practice of two South West music education hubs. Join Lewis Gibbs (Devon and Torbay Music Edcuation Hub Lead), Clair McColl (Strategic Lead for Dorset Music Service), Elfyn Jones (Director of Sonopera) and Jason Thornton (Music Director of Bath Philharmonia) as they share a number of projects and the positive impact they had on children, staff and the wider community.

Projects presented will include:
• Creativity Through Music: a primary school action research project led by Sonopera CiC
• Soundwaves: a Youth Music funded project led by Daisi Arts working with both primary and secondary schools
• Creativity Through Online Music Mentoring: lessons learned from the Youth Music funded Inclusive Dorset project piloting new ways of working with teenagers
• Inclusion through Creative Ensembles: an overview of how creative approaches to group music-making sessions can support more young people on their musical journeys
