Are you friendly, reliable and caring? look no more, CareNow is all about Community; we want volunteers to be part of it, to be a friend, to make someone smile or to lend some helping hands. We offer mutually rewarding roles that can make a real difference. With a range of opportunities we can match volunteers’ skills and their location. CareNow has been set with the single focus of recruiting, training and deploying people who are volunteering specifically to work in care homes across Cornwall. Once registered, a member of the CareNow team will call the volunteers for an informal chat and take them through the next steps of their volunteering journey and match them to that perfect opportunity. CareNow will provide continued support and guidance to the volunteers whilst they remain with us
You don’t need any special skills or experience. We’re looking for people who are friendly, reliable and caring. However, due to the vulnerability of the people involved, we require a DBS check and take references for all volunteers.
What careNow does?
CareNow recruits and checks volunteers for placement into nursing or residential care homes. Volunteers are an important part of our residents wellbeing. They can perform any number of befriending roles, spend time chatting over a cup of tea, accompanying a resident(s) on walks around the gardens, playing games or supporting them to take part in activities that interests them. Volunteers can also provide administration support and perform key tasks to take the pressure off staff. Training is available, but will depend on the volunteer and the opportunity.
