Join Rebecca Goozee from the Crafts Council to discuss delivering Artsmark through craft and a practical exploration of how to deliver craft based ‘make first’ activities in your classroom.
Embroidery artist Woo Jin Juu, recent graduate from the Royal College of Art and winner of this year’s Janome Fine Art Textiles award, will also be joining this workshop. Woo Jin Juu will be delivering a practical hands on session exploring using embroidery to generate and explore ideas and narratives.
As an Artsmark Partner, the Crafts Council supports settings working towards Artsmark, as well as those that currently hold Artsmark status. They believe craft and making should play a central role in every child’s creative education and they offer support, guidance, and practical resources to help schools make this a reality.
The Crafts Council are also an Arts Award Centre and Supporter, with a range of tools to ensure you take part in or deliver a craft-based Arts Award. This event is run by Artswork, the Bridge organisation for South East England and takes place on Wednesday 3rd November, 3:30-5pm. It is FREE and you can book here.
