This September Real Ideas will be bringing Print in Action to Bristol, joining the IMPACT 12 Printmaking Conference. 

The conference will be a moment to bring international participants together from all backgrounds, focussing on listening to each other’s voices. Connecting people through films, presentations, workshops, exhibitions, challenges, round-table discussion groups and networking.

At the Festival join Real Ideas Members Alan Qualtrough and Beth Munro, celebrating Print in Action through letterpress. 

The Impact Letterpress workshop will be at the Frenchay Campus using the University’s FAG letterpress machine.

Alan is interested in the materiality of letterpress and language and truth, so be prepared to make posters or leaflets around the theme of ‘Touch is Truth’.

Timings are 1- 2pm, 2.30 -3.30 and 4- 5pm.

Alan is a former newspaper editor and now typographer and letterpress printer at Ocean Studios, Plymouth. Beth combines letterpress with her lino prints and collagraphs, also made at Ocean Studios.
