Charles Dickens, having travelled to the westcountry to visit his father, finds himself in lodging at a quaint village inn.

It is the lead up to Christmas, and the inn is alive with festive cheer, hosting a lively Christmas party. The party is organized by the warm-hearted and jovial inn manager, Mrs Fezziwig, who is determined to bring joy and community spirit to the village during the holiday season.

As the carols ring out and the villagers laugh and feast, the mood is abruptly chilled by the entrance of the miserly Mr Gripewell, the stern owner of the inn.

Determined to appease Mr Gripwell the staff try to melt his frosty heart with Christmas spirit but a murder silences the revelry.

With suspicion thick in the frosty air, Charles Dickens must uncover the ghosts of the past that some of the guests are hiding and in a night where joy and dread collide, who will survive Christmas at the inn?
