Real Ideas Organisation (RIO) was commissioned by Winchelsea School to come and work with a group of children to create a multi-channel prospectus which tells the world about their school through their eyes Using a challenge based learning approach; the children became their own creative communications company and were asked to think about the four following questions:

  • What do you love about your school? Why is it special?
  • Tell us about your journey to school what do you see?
  • What do you like to do outside of school?
  • Who works with your school?
  • Using a variety of creative outputs including drama, film, photography, music, sound and drawing they co-designed the final prospectus through real world learning, alongside developing personal skills in these areas.

Using the bank of content they created this was developed into the final elements:

  • A film
  • Two E-books
  • Promotional material
  • School profiles
  • The content bank allows the children to continuously update this multi-channel prospectus, keeping it current and reflecting the views of their school and community.
