VOID a New Exhibition by Winnie Lyn

VOID is a new exhibition by Taiwanese artist Winnie Lyn.

Winnie Lyn has recently been on a residency at Ocean Studios, supported by Real Ideas partners Daisy Laing Gallery as part of Print in Action.

Exhibition will be running from 20th June – 10th July

About:

Inspired by “Heart Sutra”, one of the important scriptures of Buddhism, VOID is mixing Japanese woodblock printing with Chinese brass rubbing techniques to perform the abstract concept human emotion.

From 169 pieces of small woodblocks to unlimited evolution of possibilities, the combination of different blocks is like language of conversation which is trying to translate the truth and pretense of life.

Winnie Lyn’s practice concerns experience and memories, aiming to translate the truth and pretense of life into different mediums.

Currently she is focusing on inter-generational narrative, around both human and human to environment dialogues. She intends to channel her concerns into abstract forms that carry both an emotional charge and a “radiation” of meaning.

About Daisy Laing Gallery

Founded by Kate Jones, Daisy Laing Gallery has been
based on Chapel Street, Penzance, for over ten years now. Inspired by a love of
contemporary art and a passion for stylish and distinctive mid-twentieth
century design, the gallery in 2022 has evolved into a dynamic and constantly
changing art space.
