Plymouth Sound National Marine Park – Opportunities for Enterprise Workshop

Market Hall Environment & Sustainability Wed, 3rd May 2023, 12:00pm
A working lunch & workshop hosted by Real Ideas and the National Marine Park Partnership.

The unique waters of Plymouth Sound have been instrumental in shaping our city and nation’s heritage, culture, wealth and security. Plymouth Sound National Marine Park (NMP) will encourage greater prosperity and engagement with our marine environment.

This year Plymouth also celebrates its ten-year anniversary as the nation’s first Social Enterprise City.

Plymouth City Council is leading a National Lottery Heritage Fund Horizons Award bid to bring major new investment into Plymouth Sound National Marine Park and is currently completing a 2 year engagement programme for people and businesses in Plymouth to get involved in shaping the Park’s future.

The partnership is particularly interested in how the NMP can create opportunities for enterprise associated with Plymouth Sound; what additional benefit this could generate for priority groups such as lower income families, Plymouth catchment schools, HE and FE students, people with health conditions or impairments and people from ethnic minority backgrounds; and how the NMP programme could support these enterprises to start up and grow.

If you are a social, environmental or marine based enterprise, we’d love to hear from you and we would like to invite you to lunch and a workshop to hear your ideas.
