Lino-cut Weekend with Peter Ursem

Sat, 4th Feb 2023, 10:00am Ocean Studios Performing & Visual Arts

Develop your lino-cut printing skills at this dedicated workshop, with professional printmaker and author, Peter Ursem.

Elementary English — creating a one-liner, illustrated lino-print book

Workshop leader: Peter Ursem

Saturday and Sunday 4 and 5 February, 10am-4pm

Peter Ursem is both an artist and a writer, and often uses words in his printmaking. This weekend workshop is about lino printing, storytelling and bookmaking.

Peter will guide participants through the basic of lino printing — how to use black magic and mark making to create dramatic effect — and help you create a punchy one-liner and accompanying image to tell a witty or surprising tale in just a few words. Participants will print their words and images in small editions to enable an exchange and make sure that at the end of this workshop all will go home with a unique, original story book.
