Junior Print Holiday Club

Suitable for all ages but loosely aimed at 5 – 11 year olds.

12 spaces available per workshop

Timings: 10am – 1pm / 2pm- 5pm

Following on from our popular monthly Junior Print Club, we are pleased to launch a series of print fun days across the summer holidays as part of Print in Action

You'll be able to explore the creative world of print in a dedicated space. Using collage, texture and a diversity of mark making effects in a variety of print. We will explore tone, colour, shape and composition in making safe, child friendly printing processes.

You'll be able to pick and choose which sessions you'd like your child to join, morning, afternoon or both!

Learning content for each session:

27th July :

Morning session: Large scale experimental and layered monotype printing.

Afternoon session: Large scale collaborative and interactive monotype printing.

3rd August :

Morning session : stencilled screen printing, looking at shape, colour theory, mixed media layering and collage.

Afternoon session: open mesh screen printing looking at shape, colour theory, mixed media layering and collage

10th August:

Morning session: Nature and found objects cyanotype printing.

Afternoon session : digital photography cyanotype printing.

17th August :

Morning session : Linocut printing, looking at drawing with shape, negative spaces and cut-outs.
Afternoon session: Linocut printing, looking at shape, space and Layering and colour theory.

24th August :

Morning session: Dry point etching and large scale cut outs and shaped collage printing.

Afternoon session: Dry point etching with collaborative shapes, large scale collage printing

31st August :

Morning session: Pre prepared mysterious textures and shapes jigsaw collagraph printing

Afternoon session: pre prepared found collagraph printing shapes and collaborative collage.

How much do the workshops cost?

These workshops are £15 per morning or afternoon sessions. If you're looking to mix up your child's creative skillset, we have a purchase discount when booking Summer Tech Club and Summer Print Club.

Who is this workshop for?

These sessions are for beginners or children that would like to play, have a refresh, or develop skills.

Can I drop my children off for the day?

Please stay within the Ocean Studios vicinity, you're welcome to catch-up or co-work with friends in our cafe. We do have a Members coworking space on site for those who might need to take some time to work.

You're welcome to support your child during session if suitable, if you have a child under 5 who would like to have a play but doesn't quite reach the 5-11, they can join in but please make sure they are supervised.

What is Print in Action?

#Printinaction2022 brings printmakers from Plymouth and beyond together, revealing incredible talent, and celebrating print in its inspiring forms. Led by the community of printmakers at Ocean Studios and starting in April 2022.
