Junior Print is a 5 week block of Saturday workshops, playing with printmaking processes and presses!

Following on from the popular Junior Print Club sessions as part of Print in Action, we’re running a new series of 5 week block bookings to inspire and learn through Printmaking!

Through the course of 5 weeks, you’ll be on an adventure through printmaking, playing with processes, colours, materials, textures. The sessions will act as micro-projects to unlock different skills and increase knowledge in printmaking, with elements of collaboration, testing ideas.

You’ll get an exciting insight into the specialist presses kit used for printmaking, drawing on inspiration from our- local artist facilitators, who will draw on their practice to share skills and knowledge.

What to expect?

– The session is 2 hours long and we welcome parents to relax in our café whilst the sessions are in place.

– The 5 week sessions are booked as a block during term time on recurring Saturdays for 5 consecutive weeks.

– The next Junior Print block runs: 25th Feb until – 25th March

All materials are included within the sessions and you’ll get to take your masterpieces home, we’ll also exhibit the work on the final day to reflect on the work created.

Price: £37.50 (5 week block booking, £7.50 per session)

We are an environmentally conscious organisation and encourage our visitors to prioritise green travel. Please consider getting the bus, cycling or walking to visit us. If you do need to drive to attend your event then there are lots of pay and display spaces available.

When arriving at Royal William Yard you’ll need to look out for signage to Factory Cooperage, Ocean Studios can be found just a few meters away from the red telephone box situated opposite the Club House. Please enter the building via the courtyard space and through the glass doors.

When leaving the building at night please be respectful and consider residents living nearby.

Accessibility

Ocean Studios has an accessible entrance however some areas are uneven due to heritage restrictions. We have worked hard to create an accessible building, Ocean Studios has accessible toilet facilities and lift access to upper floors. Blue badge parking is available throughout the Royal William Yard – please advise us of any additional needs so we can make your visit enjoyable and comfortable.

Heritage Restrictions
Whilst we work to ensure the building is fully accessible to all, we are limited by the heritage building and land in which we work. The listed building and historic location have certain constraints which unfortunately we cannot avoid or adapt.

Where possible we have improved accessibility however please be aware that areas of Royal William Yard and our buildings has uneven ground and narrow steps with may limit access to wheelchairs and prams.
