Barnstaple is getting ready for its digital future.
The Big Digital Takeover hits Barnstaple Library on Thursday 28th of April 2016 from 10am -3pm. Join the Real Ideas Organisation (RIO) to see what it is all about and try everything from coding, curating and building, to exploring the world of graphic design and marketing. The event is open to everyone and welcomes school groups too.
The digital age is transforming how we live our lives and interact with our community. Digital isn’t just about gaming or computer code; digital technology is changing our society. Technology is a part of all of our lives and many industries. The event will ignite interests and passions of all those attending and even provide a head start for those looking for a career in the digital industry.
Jonathan Clitheroe, Head of Challenge Based Learning for RIO, says, “We’re really excited to be introducing the world of digital technology to even more people at Barnstaple Library as part of the Big Digital Takeover Day this month. It’s a huge and ever-growing sector and this is a great opportunity for people of all ages to find out more about it.”
The Big Digital Takeover is part of the ‘Ready for your Future’ programme, which is open to people interested in the digital or food industry and aims to give people new experiences and a fresh insight into these different sectors.
