Cornwall’s Social Enterprise sector will make its Royal Cornwall Show Debut next month as the newly recognised Social Enterprise Zone takes centre stage.
Featured as part of the Green Cornwall Show on Stand 91, the exhibit will showcase the very best in social enterprise from right across the county and aims to show visitors what social enterprise really means, feels, looks and, in some cases, tastes like!
The Social Enterprise Zone area at the Show will feature local businesses exhibiting and selling their socially enterprising products, as well as a range of workshops, talks and demonstrations from social entrepreneurs from across Cornwall. From baking to woodwork and sailing to soup – Cornwall’s Social Enterprise Zone has lots to shout about.
Jon Rolls, spokesman for the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Social Enterprise Zone said:
“It was only last December that the Zone was launched and so to be at such a prestigious event with the opportunity to speak to so many people about that amazing things that social enterprise has to offer is really exciting.”
Visit the stand and you can also find out about the range of support available for social enterprises and small and medium sized enterprises in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. If you have a great idea for a social enterprise business, you could find the inspiration and support to get it off the ground!
Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly were recognised as a Social Enterprise Zone in December 2013. The designation from Social Enterprise UK – the national body representing and supporting enterprises – was announced by Nick Hurd MP, Minister for Civil Society, at a special event at the Eden Project.
