Devonport Guildhall has once again been nominated for the Plymouth Herald Business Awards, and this time, they’re sharing the honour of being nominated with Column Bakehouse, Devonport Guildhall’s own artisan bakery, which is managed by the Real Ideas Organisation (RIO).
Devonport Guildhall has been nominated for Social Enterprise of the Year, and Column Bakehouse has been nominated for Best Business Startup. RIO won the same ‘Social Enterprise of the Year’ award in 2011.
Column Bakehouse is no stranger to winning awards, with Food Plymouth awarding ‘Best Local Food Product’ to Column Bakehouse for its fresh artisan bread in 2014, and winning Best Business Startup at the Western Morning News Business Awards also last year.
Being recognised for any award is a fantastic achievement, but we feel it also signifies the growing success of not just our organisation, but the social enterprise sector in the region. There is as usual tough competition from other equally high-achieving organisations, and it demonstrates the quality of businesses to come out of Plymouth and the South West.
The awards ceremony is taking place on Thursday 23rd April, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated with the outcome!
