RIO named Earth Champions

By 27th July 2015 No Comments

RIO are delighted to be named as an ‘Earth Champion’ – this accolade recognises the organisation’s work in education and communities and how RIO enables children and young people to make positive change happen. The Earth Champions Foundation praised RIO’s co-founder Matt Little and extended their thanks to him for his “wonderful work, belief and passion for improving the environment and wellbeing of Bristol, Bath and beyond.”.

The Earth Champions initiative is based on the principle that both small and significant solutions to many environmental problems can be found within communities, by individuals, organisations and government. And that it is these very people who are best equipped to inspire, lead and teach others.

The Earth Champions Quest invites the community to nominate those outstanding and everyday people or organisations that are actively working in the areas of water, energy, transport, air, biodiversity, waste management, built environment and wellbeing.

Through this initiative, Earth Champions can become recognised leaders and mentors in community programmes that bring people together, empower them and show them how to make change.
