At a time when the digital sector is growing rapidly and becoming a key part of a range of careers and futures it’s essential to give students the opportunity to explore the sector and make a valuable and meaningful contribution.
Plymouth is leading the way in investing in digital developments like the Market Hall and pioneering approaches to open data.
Digital Futures connects young people to industry professionals and opens up direct dialogues around future pathways. Digital isn’t only relevant if you are fascinated by technology or coding, the sector is fast moving, dynamic and holds opportunities for people with a range of skills and interests.
Bring students to one of RIO’s Open Data Play Days, delivered in partnership with Plymouth City Council. These are immersive events designed to inspire young people, giving them freedom to explore the digital sector and all that it encompasses, including playing with open data and technology, researching and conceptualising possible digital solutions for real problems they identify.
RIO is supporting its next Open Data play day on Friday 22nd April at the Plymouth School of Creative Arts. These Open Data days allow schools to take part in data play, finding out more about this fascinating and growing sector. Young people can take part in these free events to develop their understanding of the digital sector, through listening to industry experts and gaining real hands-on experience.
