The Children & Young People’s hub is one of several hub groups within the DAT collaboration, regularly attended by a wide range of arts and cultural providers it has led to many new links, projects and partnerships and indeed friendships.
The Arts Development Co. and current Chair Mark Tattersall, Director of Dorchester Arts are seeking a young person aged 25 or under who would like to take on the role of chairing the Children & Young People’s hub (C&YP hub) group of Dorset Arts Together. This role would be well-supported and could be undertaken by a young person already working with an arts/cultural organisation or an independent individual.
The voluntary role involves working with Hannah Baker from The Arts Development Company to plan each agenda and then chair the meetings themselves. This opportunity is to take forward the hub to become young person led and be steered by the current agenda for young people in the county.
Dorset Arts Together is a collaboration which brings together over 80 individuals and organisations in a pan Dorset group which is an Arts Council England (ACE) national exemplar for increasing resilience and sustainability through networking. The collaboration is underpinned by agreed principles:
- That increasing engagement in arts and culture is a good thing
- That we can achieve more collectively than we can as individual organisations
- That organisations attend because they want to be there and are getting something from it
The commitment would be for a minimum of three meetings which take place between every three to four months.
If you would like an informal chat about the role please contact Hannah on 01305 224525.
To apply in the first instance please send a letter via email explaining why you would be interested in the role and what you feel you would bring to the role to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Deadline: September 4th 2017
The next meeting for the C&YP hub will be Thursday 21st September, 10am at West Dorset District Council, South Walks House, Dorchester.
