RIO is helping the people of Plymouth to have their say regarding the roads, cycle paths and pavements in their area through signing up to Changify, a programme being piloted in Plymouth which allows people to address the issues they are coming across when using these. Changify will also organise fun walks and cycle rides – a chance to use the outdoors in a really positive, healthy and fun way.
Changify is now looking for 200 Plymouth people to sign up for the programme, which means we need any road, cycle path or pavement user to join and feed back on the state of the Plymouth transportation networks! Get involved through taking part in Changify, and just spreading the word about the state of the Plymouth road and cycle networks.
Changify is bringing smart technology and the great outdoors together, through allowing the community to experience both. We’re encouraging everyone who ever uses a Plymouth road, cycle path or pavement to take photos of any issues they come across – whether it’s a pothole in the road (which led to a bicycle accident for Plymouth local Priya Prakash and was the catalyst in forming Changify), rough and unstable pavements through parks or along the side of the road, or anything else which might affect you and need addressing, and share these as part of a larger social network.
RIO is a proud supporter and partner of Changify. Find out more about the pilot partner organisations here.
How to help spread the word
Take a photo of an issue you come across in Plymouth. Share it via social media. Make sure you tag Changify and use the #SmarterCities hashtag to really get the message across, and your message can be shared more widely.
