Cancellation Policy 

How to Book  

We have recently changed ticketing platforms to Eventbrite to make it easier for our customers to book tickets to Real Ideas experiences. Tickets can be booked online via our website.  

If you would like help booking your ticket, please email [email protected] or visit us in person at Ocean Studios (Factory Cooperage, Royal William Yard, Plymouth PL1 3RP) or Market Hall (Duke St, Devonport, Plymouth PL1 4PS) where our Hosts can assist you.  

Only tickets purchased via our official Eventbrite account (accessed via www.realideas.org/whats-on) are valid for admission. Tickets may not be sold for commercial gain – any tickets purchased through unapproved channels will be deemed invalid, and admission will be refused.   

For each transaction, Eventbrite charges a small fee (£0.49 per ticket plus 5.7% of the individual ticket price) to cover payment charges and processing. These fees are included in your total ticket price at the point of booking. 

Pricing and Concessions  

Real Ideas endeavours to provide financially accessible ticket prices wherever possible.  

Free accompanying carer tickets are available for all our events. You may be asked to present a valid form of proof that you are a Carer. This can be in the form of official letter or ID. 

Ticket Collection  

You will be emailed a digital copy of your ticket, which can be added to your phone’s wallet via the link in the email. When you arrive, please have your ticket to hand and the QR code in your ticket ready for scanning. It is not necessary to print out your tickets, we prefer digital wherever possible to keep our environmental impact as low as possible.   

Cancellationand refunds 

We appreciate that plans change, so here’s our policy if you need to cancel.  

For paid activity:   

Refunds are available up to 7 days before the start time of the activity. To cancel tickets, use the link on your confirmation email and follow the steps provided by Eventbrite. In the event of a cancellation, you will be refunded your ticket price minus the transaction fee. 

If you cancel within 7 days of a paid-for event, no refund is available. 

For free activity:   

If you can’t make a free activity you have booked, you can cancel in the same way as for a paid ticket. We would much rather you cancel your tickets and allow other people to book, so please make use of this facility if you can no longer attend. 

Refunds 

If you would like to contact us about a refund or ticket transfer, please email [email protected] Our cancellation policy may vary for individual events, please check at the point of booking for event specific information. 

Ticket Transfer 

Ticket transfer is available through Eventbrite, this is free and self-served. In the event that you are transferring to a higher ticket value you will be asked to pay the difference at the point of booking. If the transfer is to a lower ticket value, a refund will be processed manually by our staff. For a transfer related partial refund please email [email protected] 

Group Bookings  

If you are booking for a group, your tickets will be listed under the lead ticket holder’s name. Please make it clear who the lead ticket holder is in your group to make check-in without a QR code easier if you are arriving separately.  

Late Arrival 

We cannot guarantee entry into the event or offer a refund, in the event of late arrivals. Your ticket gives you entry to the experience named on your ticket only.

Your Information  

Real Ideas will request certain information from you when booking tickets or adding you to our mailing list (e.g. name, address, contact details). Any information you provide will be held securely and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (2018), and any card details you have provided for payment will be processed through the Eventbrite payment processing system. Your information will not be passed on to third parties without your prior consent.  

During the booking process, we may ask you for a contact telephone number or email address; this is to allow us to contact you with further information or any changes to your booking. We will only contact you using these details regarding existing bookings and will not use this information for marketing purposes.  

If you opt into marketing communications, your information may be used by Real Ideas to notify you of our work and upcoming events.  If you no longer wish to be on our mailing list, you can unsubscribe at any time.
