Working with Cinderford Regeneration Board and a cluster of schools in Cinderford, RIO has developed Splash magazine an exciting new youth-led publication and website which sees young people exploring their thoughts around developments in their home town.
In schools around Cinderford, young people are generating content for the magazine from research, projects, visits, activities, interviews, observations and the school curriculum. Splash is channelling opportunities for young people to learn and to develop their own opinions about the town, the community and their futures. Splash can also act as a vehicle for young people to use their ideas to make positive change happen. The young writers, editors and designers are supported by a journalist and a graphic designer to turn their plans into reality.
Through Splash...
RIO has been commissioned by Bridgwater local authority to work with young people on developing a Splash-style magazine for their town which will provide a route for them to engage, connect with and talk about what’s going on in Bridgwater.
