The Chew TV Network hosts a collection of social broadcasting websites that are run by and for young people aged 14-25 from all over the world. The network gives a voice to young people providing a free global showcase for new talent in digital media, to connect and share ideas whilst allowing anyone to watch their user generated content online, helping break the young stars of the future.
The Chew TV Network positively influences young people’s lives by providing a voice through digital media, personal development opportunities and access to the media industry. As well as culturing young media talent, the network offers a unique and innovative platform for projects, organisations and brands to deploy their own youth communication initiatives using the latest in social networking tools.
To support the online community, the Chew TV Network pioneers a scheme giving industry experience to a core team of media enthusiasts known as the Content Crew. By harnessing the powers of the various online social media websites and merging with real world communities, the recruitment of the volunteer group is ever expanding. This group are passionate media enthusiasts from across the EU aged 14 – 25 years old, making up a community of over 50 young people and growing, who help decide what is featured on the Network and how that content is selected for viewing, providing a crowd sourced methodology of peer review and support.
The Content Crew manage all the content submitted throughout the network, much in the same way social media websites are managed, acting as a hive mind to select the most current and appropriate content connecting with young people of similar ages and interests.
Grown from RIO, the Chew TV Network is registered in the UK as a Community Interest Company, and being a social enterprise the work that we carry out is ethically driven and provides ongoing opportunities for young people in the current and emerging use of media, whatever the format, ability or skill-base.
